‘Baan Oun Rak’

‘Baan Oun Rak’, CPCR Treatment Shelter, was established to supports the healing of children and women affected by human trafficking, particularly those experiencing mental health, personality, and behavioral challenges. Today, its services have focused on children who have experienced violence and unlawful care. Baan Oun Rak provides a safe space for care and rehabilitation, help children recover physically and emotionally and reintegrate safely into their families and society.

Over time, the shelter has evolved to reflect changing social contexts. Currently, children attend on a day-care basis, allowing them to maintain connections with their families and communities. The resilience program is grounded in Trauma-Informed Care (TIC), which recognizes the impact of trauma, prioritizes safety, avoids re-traumatization, and builds trust through consistent, supportive relationships between children and caregivers.

Resilience focuses on experiential healing through structured routines that foster a sense of safety. Activities such as art, drama, music, movement, storytelling, and cooking help children express emotions and develop new skills. In particular, art therapy promotes emotional healing, relaxation, and self-esteem.

‘Baan Oun Rak’ also emphasizes family engagement through its “the Parents Classroom” program, which strengthens parenting skills, positive communication, and understanding of child development. This approach ensures continuity of care after children return home and integrates with the broader child protection system through ongoing assessment, planning, and monitoring tailored to each child.

Consequently, ‘Baan Oun Rak’ is not only a space of protection, but a place for healing and opportunity. Through a multidisciplinary approach that integrates therapy, child empowerment, and family collaboration, it supports children to grow safely, build self-worth, and shape their own futures.
