Thailand became the 68th country

to have banned the use of corporal punishment

On 25 March 2025, the amendment to Section 1567 of the Civil and Commercial Code is enacted. Thailand has officially banned all forms of violent discipline, including corporal and psychological punishment. The amendment to Section 1567 of the Civil and Commercial Code announced in the Royal Gazette on 24 March 2025, makes Thailand the 68th country to outlaw corporal punishment in homes, schools, residential care facilities, juvenile centers, and daycare centers.

It can be claimed that both state organizations and NGOs have worked together for many years to push to amend this law. Now, the law has been enacted. What we need to urgently do is to promote understanding of the positive parenting. Let's work together so that our children receive positive parenting and are no longer abused.
